San Ramon Farmers Market Has Moved!
Guten Tag!
Have you heard? The San Ramon Farmers Market has moved to a new location: Bishop Ranch 2, Bollinger Canyon Rd/Sunset Drive across from Whole Foods Market. Every Saturday, 9 am – 1 pm, year round now.
The opening day was on May 7th, when my husband and I checked it out ourselves. Of course the setting is not as pretty as the Forest Home Farms location, but there was enough parking and set-up space for the vendors.I think that there were a few more vendors than before, which hopefully will make up for the change in location.
Here are ten reasons why to buy local food/ produce:
- Locally grown food tastes better.
- Local produce is better for you.
- Local food preserves genetic diversity.
- Local food is GMO-free.
- Local food supports local farm families.
- Local food builds community.
- Local food preserves open space.
- Local food keeps your taxes in check.
- Local food supports a clean environment and benefits wildlife.
- Local food is about the future.
And now I am trying to get into the habit of supporting our local Farmers Market. See you there for breakfast with my cute market basket!
Gesundheit!
